I'm afraid my Kate Spade obsession is becoming somewhat of a problem. I probably look at the Belle Boulevard Collection about five times a day. It's so gorgeous and I just feel so giddy looking at it.

Every. Single. Time. Seriously...and then I came across these fabulously cheery polka dot coasters...

Have Yourself A Chic Little Christmas

Every year during the holidays my Mom lays out a big puzzle on a spare table. My sister and I sort through all of the pieces and gradually start working on the edges and corners. The whole process usually starts off slowly and then before I know it, we are all completely sucked into making every one of those little odd shaped pieces fit together. It's a great way to connect (literally!) with your loved ones. I've been eyeing this chic City Collage Puzzle from Anthroplogie for our 2010 project. Wouldn't it be so grand surrounded by a heavy black frame?



I am slowly easing my way into this whole canning thing - colorful and rich preserves, jams and jellies. This book looks awesome and I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail soon! Sure to be a hit with the star chef in your family. It's also full of gorgeous pictures and would make an excellent coffee table book. Buy your very own copy here.

Your Weekend - Planned!

If you love vintage and live any where close to Dallas, TX then you need to cancel all of your plans for tomorrow and go to The Dallas Flea. Doors open at 9am. I will be working the Mary's Finds booth, so come by and say hello. Mary has some really great things and at bargain prices! Thinking about selling some of my own vintage scores, only I'm having some trouble deciding which items I am willing to part ways with. I will probably end up being the Starbuck's gal which is alright by me. Have a wonderful weekend!!

I am loving these pieces from Miu Miu's fall collection. Bows, ruffles and plenty of sparkle and shine.

I am usually not one to carry a big bag, but this one is pretty spunky and still has some structure. Thumbs up!

This is probably my favorite piece. Just look at the detail - ruffle sleeves, nice collar, nice pockets and those flowers along the bottom. Obviously, I am not the only one who likes this - the coat is SOLD OUT and the leaves haven't even changed colors yet. Adorbs!!

Love this skirt - but you can get it all day long in pretty much any vintage shop for much, much less!


Gorgeous two-tone shoe - will work well with those 50's circle skirts for fall/winter!

“It’s a shop, not a gallery,” says Andy Spade of Partners & Spade, the downtown Manhattan retail space/office he opened this year. Still, visitors would be wise to request the guided tour. Spade and Sperduti, who collaborated on concept shops like the J. Crew men’s Liquor Store and the Jack Spade and Kate Spade boutiques, kept the space, a former metalworks workshop, raw with concrete floors and brick walls and created simple displays that encourage customer interaction. Every drawer is meant to be opened; vitrines are left unlocked for easy access. Shoppers need to look in, up, and under the counters, as every place holds something to buy and the inventory is constantly changing. And that's not all, for the first three weekends in November, the back room, which serves as the partners’ office during the week, will transform into a confectionary kitchen, with the artist Will Cotton—known for his surreal candy landscapes—baking and selling party cakes and macarons in lemon, pistachio, pumpkin, salted caramel, lavender, and chocolate curry.

Sweet Tart Obsessed

Confession: I have a small obsession with tart baking. Tarts are the perfect combination of pastry and fruit. Custards and fillings are totally optional (but much more yumm with!). So simple. I haven't made one in forever it seems, but this Pear Almond recipe from Smitten Kitchen has me itching to bring out the fluted tart pans. Isn't that the most fun name for a baking dish? Just look at this crust...
