Little Bee's Wisdom

"On the girl's brown legs there were many small white scars. I was thinking, Do those scars cover the whole of you, like the stars and the moons on your dress? I thought that would be pretty too, and I ask you right here please to agree with me that a scar is never ugly. That is what the scar makers want us to think. But you and I, we must make an agreement to defy them. We must see all scars as beauty. Okay? This will be our secret. Because take it from me, a scar does not form on the dying. A scar means, I survived."

Roughin' It Texas Style

Sleep wherever your heart desires at El Cosmico. You can go green and stay in a cool yurt eco shack or sleep Indian style in a Sioux teepee. And if sleeping on the ground isn't your thing, then take a peek at their very retro (& very cool) vintage trailers. There are also plenty of hammocks hanging, a community lounge and mercantile, and an outdoor kitchen and dining space. Appropriately located in Marfa, TX.

State Love

I spotted this Texas pillow a few months ago at a garage sale. It had a $45 price tag and I thought that was a tad high for a yard sale find. Little did I know then what a deal that was! Well guess what? Uncommon Goods sells these nifty pillows for every state. Even my sweet home Alabama! I just have to pay $100 more to buy it brand new. One day I will learn....

They also have pillows for some of your favorite destinations...

Order by December 10 to guarantee delivery in time to put under the tree. Here's wishing you a few sweet home Alabama dreams!

Have Yourself A Chic Little Christmas

Every year during the holidays my Mom lays out a big puzzle on a spare table. My sister and I sort through all of the pieces and gradually start working on the edges and corners. The whole process usually starts off slowly and then before I know it, we are all completely sucked into making every one of those little odd shaped pieces fit together. It's a great way to connect (literally!) with your loved ones. I've been eyeing this chic City Collage Puzzle from Anthroplogie for our 2010 project. Wouldn't it be so grand surrounded by a heavy black frame?

I am slowly easing my way into this whole canning thing - colorful and rich preserves, jams and jellies. This book looks awesome and I can't wait for it to arrive in the mail soon! Sure to be a hit with the star chef in your family. It's also full of gorgeous pictures and would make an excellent coffee table book. Buy your very own copy here.

For the girl who adores bows, gold jewelry and vintage. Twirl Bow Cuff from Kate Spade. Definitely on my wish list this year! Wink, wink!

Okay, so I don't have any little ones running around The Hepburn. But, if I did - they would be rolling around in this hip little roadster from Nest Living. So posh! The steering wheel is made of wood and metal and simply oozes clean, refined Saab design. No, you won't fit!
